Cuando la temperatura de una sustancia desciende por debajo de su punto de congelaci\u00f3n, su movimiento t\u00e9rmico molecular se ralentiza y el espaciado molecular aumenta, lo que da lugar a la formaci\u00f3n de cristales congelados. Estos cristales crecen con el tiempo y acaban formando una estructura s\u00f3lida completa.
